Race Day

Jason beat me bad. We ran 100 meters like the last time, but the results weren’t as surprising. He ran like a man possessed a few months ago, while I was sick and fatigued. Today, there were no excuses. I don’t know how to run is the conclusion that Curt came up with, and I can’t disagree. That’s hardly an excuse though. Good race Jason, I’ll see you on the track October 11th, unless you have a better date.

Work sucked. That’s the easiest way to describe a rainy day bagging at the commissary. I took an order out and watched a sprinkle grow to massaging shower head style rain. A minute later, it let up, and I was one of about three to get drenched. Krenil and I split an ?…¨©clair and my wet socks didn’t matter anymore. We even got to leave early. My luck didn’t stand a chance against the crane game today. Krenil, Carlo, and I left a combined four dollars shorter with nothing to show for it.

Wal-mart apparently doesn’t stock games in the morning, but Street Fighter Anniversary Collection was there the second time I came. After picking it up, I navigated through the parking to finally open up a Blockbuster account. Paperwork was a hassle, but I finally have a membership card and a Movie Pass. Passion and Never Scared were nowhere to be found, so I picked up Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Triumph: The Insult Comic Dog. As far as ripping goes, I’ve been backtracked and have five to do. Blockbuster Online was really great, but my online renting days are over–for this month at least.

Hyper Street Fighter is awesome. Glenn, Paul, and Chris came over, and it is pretty even all around. My Normal Guile was the first victim of a perfect when I played Paul’s Super Turbo Ken. Later in the night I got my revenge. It wasn’t so sweet, though, since we weren’t our normal characters. Versions I don’t remember, but my Blanka kept his Balrog immobile.

I am only a few dozen pages into it, but The Rule of Four by Ian Caldwell & Dustin Thomason started out well enough. Without novels, I seem to have a hard time reading. Save one, all the books I have checked out of the library are non-fiction. This book is reminding me of why I loved reading during the school year. Now is time to continue the journey, or start it I guess.
