Life Updates

Revenge of the Sith

Wednesday night we caught a midnight Episode III showing. Unfortunately, there weren’t a whole lot of characters walking around the theater. A few Anakins and Darth Vaders were strolling around, but there wasn’t a single Storm Trooper. However, there were a ton of lightsabers. Everyone in the two rows in front of us had lightsabers. It was a sight to see. The theater we went to let people sit hours before the movie started and everyone got tickets off Fandango so we didn’t have to wait in line. We did wait in our seats though. Eventually most of the people in the theater got a bit restless. When a bunch of teenagers with lightsabers have nothing to do, they gather.

Two Vaders, one Anakin, and a solid twenty other Jedi garbed in street clothes gathered at the front of the theater. We were about to witness one of the great battles of our time. Actual deaths may have taken place. Then a theater usher came in and stopped the fight before it started. I feel like I missed something great, because there never will be a next time.

The movie was awesome, though that probably goes without saying. I’m not a professional critic, but even they seen to be enjoying it. I guess I’ll keep this spoiler safe for a little bit, so highlight to read.

When Sidious rages on Mace Windu and the accompanying Jedi, the other Jedi appear pretty incompetent. I’ve read things about them being shocked and unprepared for an enemy they underestimated. Jedi don’t get shocked to the point that they stand and watch one of their own receive the same two-handed death stab that Achilles gave Hector in Troy. I understand that Sidious is supposed to look extremely powerful and that Windu is able to fight him off, but it’s mostly just Windu’s posse looking horrid. They are on the Jedi Council. This is the only scene that I found bothersome.

My favorite scenes are the obvious choices. Order 66 was done well, and I got chills when Anakin and Obi-Wan turn their lightsabers on prior to their fight. The scene with the limbless Anakin yelling at Obi-Wan probably tops the list. That’s some hate right there. Darth Vader taking his first breath may have been as good a moment as Aragorn’s “for Frodo”. There’s a ton of good stuff to see, and I’m sure everyone is going to see it by the end of the weekend.

School

Same old thing. Study, do some homework, get dominated by an exam, rinse, and repeat. The year has zoomed by. Only two weeks left until finals. It’s been a good year, but I’m sure I’ll have some end of the year post to cover all of that

And now I am out of any subject matter. I should probably break the camera out soon.
