Brisket and Donuts

Jerry, Junior, and I fulfilled a lifelong dream this morning. We bought a seven pound beef brisket and did our best not to burn it. Mission: Unaccomplished. We didn’t overcook the entire thing, though. Other than the bark bottom, we ended up with a decent piece of chew. While the brisket was smoking, we grilled up the ultimate appetizer–ribeye steaks. Lots of beef led to lots of flossing and the inevitible food coma.

TV was poppin’ off today. I was flipping between some crazy long special about ancient Rome, the real U.S. Open, and football for a few hours. Then I came across the hacky sack scene in She’s All That on ABC Family. This scene is absurd. It’s amazing how they managed to fit all the acting ability of Paul Walker and Freddie Prinze Jr. in one movie. I used to love this movie. I ended up watching the entire movie and realized that, for whatever reason, the previous sentence needs a correction: I used to love this movie. It’s still on my list of favorites along with Solo and Ernest Saves Christmas.

I met up with Jerry, Junior, and Jon later to watch some Simpsons and to pick up some donuts, aka Dudes’ Night Out! The next DNO: midnight showing of Just Like Heaven.
