Entertaining Memories with my Brother that werenǃÙt Fun at the Time: I want some of that Purple Stuff.

This was in first grade. Our family was at a potluck at some campground. I donǃÙt remember who exactly, but someone brought a bike that different kids were using. There was a road that went to the other side of the campgrounds that went up a huge incline. With a bike and a gigantic hill, the best thing to add is the fourth-grade version of my brother.

One of the cooler kids flew down the hill without a hitch. This inspired my brother. He tells me he did exactly what the other kid did, except with his foot on the brake the whole time (AKA didn’t do what the other kid did). Going down the hill that slow makes it seem kind of pointless, but I guess he’d still be able to say “I rode my bike down the hill.” IǃÙm still not sure what went wrong exactly. When I saw him, he was on his back and I told him that help was on the way.

At that point in my life, I had seen enough Rescue 911 to know that it was a good idea to wash cuts. However, I hadn’t watched enough to understand that it wasnǃÙt a good idea to wash cuts with soda. Knowing I had to act quick, I emptied a can of grape Fanta on his face and likely saved his life.
