Last week ago, I tried to file or throw away any loose paper in my room. I have a bunch of notebooks so I came up with a great plan to scan all the drawings from my notebooks. Individually, 95% of the drawings are remarkable works of art. You won’t find illustrations better than these. Why am I sharing them online and not in an art gallery? Beats me.
Anyway, I still can’t draw. I’m hoping to fix the lack of pencil skill with some computer magic. Hopefully, a collage of a bunch of bad doodles looks better than a bunch of bad doodles. I scanned 30 pages last week and put a little draft together (thumbnail) to see how things would look. I was going to continue with the scanning tonight, but then I read up on some Illustrator tracing and read even more about the Live Trace function. It makes the scans look cleaner than simply tweaking the levels in photoshop. There’s a good 150 pages left to scan, and I think I’m going to do the rest of the collage in photoshop.
I’ll try and finish that during spring break. It’s going to take more time than it’s worth. But, hey, I’d probably just hibernate if I didn’t keep busy. Here’s a drawing from this week processd in Illustrator. It shows the death of two stick figures, inspired by my love for school. Oh, that’s a metro bus and the other thing is labeled. Time for some shut eye.
