I’ve managed to keep and convert most of the old posts from this site between changing from WordPress to Movable Type and back to WordPress. I used archive.org to take a look at the first version of the site that I didn’t back up. I was focused on keeping it strictly about pictures, but I couldn’t resist the urge to share my thoughts once in a while. I seemed to hate contractions for some reason. Here are some excerpts from March 2004. Spring quarter at Skagit, my final quarter of high school, was about to start.

Starting off are some thoughts about college.

My running start will conclude, and I’ll have to prepare to keep pace with the road ahead. A cramped, parentless dorm room, a refrigerator holding only microwavable items, and hours of studying all lay in waiting half a year away.

I am excited.

I vaguely remember this. There’s no sarcasm in the dramatic last sentence. I really was excited. Why? Beats me. I need to work on bringing my motivation up. Any academic enthusiasm I had before has been brutally beaten out of my body (alliteration unintended). Hours of studying is hours of trying to study. I have no fridge because my old one had a feature I disliked: opening it released the stench of death. Cramped dorm room? Completely accurate.

Here’s another one about the upcoming quarter.

A little more than an hour of spring break left. Technically. Forty-two hours separate me and my first spring class. My online class starts tomorrow if that counts for anything.

Forget UW, I should’ve been excited for that. Two online classes and math offline–five actual class hours. In the digital imaging class, I pretty much posted pictures from this site for the assignments. Everything looks great in retrospect.

This last one is proof that Dan’s always been an integral part of my blog.

I miss elementary school. April fool’s day was awesome then. Actually, most of the pranks were pretty tame. Once, I put green food coloring in a glass of water and added salt and gave it to my mom. She had no idea why I would do such a thing. I should have given it to Dan.
