Murs Concert

DJ Rosscoe

He played good music during the intermission. I don’t have much else to say. Oh. it seemed like he brought the high school honeys up in the piece to support him, so he’s probably a good person.

Cancer Rising

Hot beats. Rapping wasn’t bad. I was too focused on how agonizing the two hour wait for Murs would be. I was comparing it to standing through Public Enemy before Nas. Then Cancer Rising did me a favor and re-enacted the George Bush/Big Oil hating from Bumbershoot 2004. I’m not that big on politics. I understand it’s ignorant and probably more ignorant of me to realize my ignorance and not care too much. But is it necessary to reiterate the Administration hate at every concert?

4th Pyramid

Junior says 4th Pyramid (looking like Joakim Noah) should change his name to Specs Two and form a group with Specs One, creating Specs, the worst rap duo since me and Junior appeared together on a song forever lost (hopefully) in the depths of someone’s computer. It might’ve been when I dropped “This battle’s in the bag like a forty.” Apparently, 4th is a rapper/producer. And like another of the same description, MF Doom, the beats is nice but I can’t stand the vocals.

Supreeme

They pulled through. I bought their album, it’s the first CD I’ve bought since probably Mo’ Thugs Volume II. They sound a lot better live. They’ll get better. I believe in them because homeboy looks like Donald Faison.

Murs

Killed it. What more can I say? I was real happy about him doing “God’s Work”, my anthem on the drive to the commissary during my bagging days. Shock G came out for Risky Business. I’m pretty sure he’s eight feet tall.

Best $10 I’ve spent in a long time.
