A couple random things

TonyHomo.com

Last night’s (AWESOME) NFC wild card game brought an end to the Cowboys season, but more importantly it brought an end to Really Drew Bledsoe’s days of blogging. The true identity of the author is revealed to be someone running another sports blog. And that’s the problem: it’s just another sports blog. Worse yet is that it’s forever going to be compared to TonyHomo.com. That’s might not be a bad thing, and the guy acknowledges that in his introductory post. Part of what made the site so good was that nobody seemed to know who was behind it, so it kind of takes away from the whole thing. But you have to give credit where credit’s due, and that site was the most entertaining site I’ve read this year. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a Pro Bowl post.

Jack in the Box

I went to Jack in the Box over winter break. It was my first time since they renovated all the stores. If you didn’t see the millions of commercials, the decor is changed and the lighting now resembles a Starbucks rather than its peers at McDonald’s or BK. Most important are the flat panel screens mounted throughout the place. It’s a good idea, but the problem is that all it shows is Jack in the Box stuff. It’s terrible. We’re already in the place eating, so commercials seem very unnecessary. It’s like Big Brother, but Jack’s controlling the world.

P.S. I’m not at all a fan of ciabatta bread. But I’m guessing I haven’t had anything authentic.

[For those who might care: I’ll type up the rest of Hawaii and the 2006 recap this week hopefully.]
