New Iron Man trailer. Goes to Myspace Trailer Park, which has links to high-quality versions. I’ve read comments about how this will be the best comic-book movie of 2008. To me, it seems unlikely that anything will be better than … Continue reading
Zach Randolph in one of the worst possessions you’ll see in your lifetime. Here’s a snippet from a good description from Basketbawful: 3. He totally loses the rock like somebody abusing the freestyle control on NBA Live and has to … Continue reading
Jimmy Kimmel’s response to that other video by Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon. From his post-Oscar show. Ridiculous amount of random stars.
Be Kind Rewind
About what I was expecting. All the parts where they are remaking movies are clever and really entertaining, the rest of the movie is alright. Mos Def is good—If you liked him in Hitchhiker’s Guide, you’ll like him in Be … Continue reading
80th Academy Awards. Those are your winners. No Country for Old Men won Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Javier Bardem got his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Juno probably had no real shot at Best Picture, but … Continue reading
Christmas Eve Party
Slightly late, but it’s been on my list of things to do and I needed to cross something off.
I need more descriptive headings
Just thought I’d use Dark Room and write for a while. I went back through my archives and this site has been sort of stagnant for a while. I feel like it was better around two years ago; the site … Continue reading
RoboCop II
There are two reasons that RoboCop is remembered as a good acction movie rather than a good action trilogy. Reason number one is RoboCop II. Public opinion of this movie is that they somehow forget the entire end of the … Continue reading
Robocop
RoboCop is one of those movies where I thought I saw it as a kid, but I either a) actually didn’t, or b) didn’t understand it at all. I’m going with ‘actually didn’t’ in this case. I knew it was … Continue reading
“She spilled my coffee”. Looks like an SNL skit. Actually a public service announcement.
Watch Tracy McGrady try to hold his laughter in. Some guy proposes to his girlfriend at a Rockets game during halftime at half court. From what I’ve read, it’s probably fake. Looked good to me, so I might be gullible.
Baguio at night: One
Excluding anything from the actual anniversary ceremony (which are simply too important), these are my favorite pictures from the Philippines trip. For this week, I’m posting one per day. At the time, I was still jet lagged, so I fell asleep in the afternoon and woke up in the middle of the night. It was one of those moments where I knew I better take pictures or I’d regret it later. Here’s my post about that day, where I use the word cacophony and recall a ridiculous dream.
Also, I had no tripod. I used a t-shirt to keep the camera steady and placed it on the balcony ledge. That’s a Shoe Mart in the background on top of the hill on the left side.
Jumper
The best movie featuring Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson since Episode II. There’s a sequence filmed in the Colosseum that’s pretty cool and served as a reminder that I couldn’t think of many movies actually filmed inside the gates. … Continue reading
Trying to be models
I don’t think I’ve posted these yet. We took these in the summer at Kerry Park. I don’t think I was supposed to smile. As far as I remember, I set my camera up on a tripod, I used a flashlight from my car to shine on the person to help with the auto-focus, then I switched it to manual focus and opened the shutter for 30 seconds. While it was open, I used Paul’s camera to set off flashes from different angles. My guess is that’s the exact process professionals use.
2001 NCAA game – Duke vs. Maryland. Duke rallies from a 10 point deficit with one minute remaining to force overtime.
Dwight Howard preparing for the dunk contest. The dunk at the end is pretty nuts. He also gives a demonstration of how ridiculous he looks hanging off the rim.
Do schools today kill creativity? It’s a 20-minute talking head video, just a bit of a disclaimer. Ken Robinson’s talk from the 2006 TED convention. We watched this in lecture today, and Robinson provides his ideas about today’s education systems … Continue reading
No link, just something I want to mention. Is it really necessary for SportsCenter to replay Richard Zednik getting his throat slashed? I understand yesterday, but today they’ve been replaying it, slowing it down, and highlighting the neck area as … Continue reading
Because Joe Buck is about as exciting as me, here’s Marv Albert’s Westwood One call over the Fox telecast of the helmet catch. Since Dan didn’t watch SportsCenter for a few days after the Super Bowl, I told him America … Continue reading
After that Boomer blow up from last week, a few more came out. He’s still mad at the teleprompter. More potty mouth footage. And his method of smuggling pills down from Canada.
We Need Girlfriends. Haven’t watched any yet, supposed to be pretty good. And here’s a New York Times article about it.
The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters
The King of Kong is a documentary presenting the history of Billy Mitchell and following Steve Wiebe, a guy from Washington, in his attempt to beat Billy’s Donkey Kong world record. It’s better than I just made it sound right … Continue reading
2008 Hillcrest Super Bowl – Two
Featuring a member of USA’s national Throw, Hike, Surf team.
Super Bowl XLII Pick
I figure everyone’s going with the Giants because it’s more fun that way. Rule of averages, Patriots have to lose one of these eventually, right? Here you go: Giants 31, Patriots 28 Copied and pasted these from this about.com page. … Continue reading
Chris pointed this out to me and it pretty much made my day. Jason Bateman Confirms Arrested Development Movie Talks. “I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started,” Bateman says. “Any talk is targeting a poststrike situation, of … Continue reading
During the 2006 draft previews, a lot of analysts said Brandon Roy was the most NBA-ready. I guess they were right. I figured he’d be good, but not this good this fast. Brandon Roy is an NBA all-star. And anytime … Continue reading
