Monthly Archives: March 2008
Woke up, turned on the tv and Hannibal was on at the part where the guy cuts his own face off with glass. What happened to cartoons?
Just realized the Dance Crew finale was last night. Glad to see the result. Also, Wilson just floated away from Tom Hanks. TNT. TNT.
Had some In-N-Out. I happened to have Dick’s just this week. In-N-Out’s burgers are a little better, but Dick’s fries are leagues ahead.
Huf was Goods. Fisherman’s Wharf was a more touristy Pike Place. USF was Queen Anne. And the racial mix was basically identical.
Overall impression of San Francisco: It’s not that much different from Seattle. Seafood, hills, and rain.
And it works. True was poppin off. And these guys all seem to love their jobs. Can’t knock it.
“Ok listen, we’re gonna have a stockroom guy, a register guy, and an all-time folder. We’ll charge $30 a shirt. They’ll come flocking.”
Checked in at our hotel near SFO. I hate that airport. Just saw the NCAA scores. Hello blowouts. Goodbye Pac-10. Go UCLA!
Plus I got a bread bowl to eat the shell innards with so I don’t just drink it. Not a good look but the bread didn’t help much either.
Ate at crab station #2 on Fisherman’s Wharf. It’s whole crabs at market price. 10.50 per pound. We got one with calimari and chips.
A joke: What did the cashier say to the customer with one can of Sprite? “One fifty please.”
Favorite things in the world: 6. Watching Dan shop in these skate botiques.
Dan decided we should go from Fisherman’s Wharf to Huf, AKA Urban Hike 2008
Pump my veins with clarified butter and crab fat and I’ll die happy. Hopefully some se7en copycat killer isn’t reading this.
Crab house: 3lbs is neither overwhelming or underwhelming for 2 people. A little pricey. ~ $50 for 2 people. 3.5 out of 5.
Eating at the Crab House at Pier 39. I think they just opened because it’s pretty empty. We ordered 3 lbs. Hope it’s good.
San Francisco is a lot higher than San Diego and a lot lower than Hawaii on the I-can’t-imagine-living-here scale.
Good morning from San Francisco. P.S. Dan’s responsible for that no-caps-no-punctuation post down there. I’m trying my hardest.
Marco Bellinelli: Human victory cigar. They went nuts when he hit the 3. They started filing out after Croshere’s reverse slam.
And that’s how much I know about Basketball. Lawson for 3 and they’re up 14 at the half.
Chris let me know that Brandon Roy is out. If I had to pick a team to watch blow someone out, the Warriors would be up there.
The redwoods distract when driving through. On the 101 they come out of nowhere. I was driving and suddenly the trees got really huge.
these gold family sedans on the roadyou can always rely on passing them and old folk inside Btw I got my parents gold camry for the trip
Lost Coast Brewery: Calimari, Lemon parmesan cheese fries, LCB root beer. 4.5 out of 5.
I told dan “come on!” and he ordered the sampler. 40 oz of premium brew! I suspect it’d be a good idea for me to drive after this
Dan’s in Kinko’s printing out our tickets. I hope Brandon Roy is playing I never did check how bad he got hurt. TNT! Look for us.

In Eureeka, CA. Stopping at Lost Coast Brewery. Dan’s going to liquor up before noon.
About to hit the road again. Just ate at the breakfast buffet, except they take your plate away so you can’t go back.
Some guy in a Bowflex commercial: “I gave all of my fat clothes to all of my fat friends.” What a badass.
It led us to some Econolodge that looked an awful lot like a certain Mr. Bardem would be dropping in. GPS can do you wrong after all.
Speaking of derelict, earlier we tried to find our Best Western with the GPS.
Found em: “Out on bail fresh out of jail California dreamin’. Soon as I step on scene all the hoochies screaming.”
But I let it run again and we crossed. I’m trying to find lyrics that fit both my personality and this situation.
I mistimed it pretty horribly. We were like an inch away from the border on the GPS when both songs finished. AKA 20 miles.
On-the-go: 1. Notorious B.I.G “Going back to Cali” 2. 2Pac “California Love.” If I time this right we’ll cross the border between songs.
Hopefully we can take that picture where me and dan hold hands and can’t hug the tree trunk together or be even close. I’m excited.
Just got on the 199. About eighty miles from California. We’re supposed to go to the Redwood forest tomorrow.
The deeper we get into Oregon the more derelict the rest stops are. This one just now reminded me of where Seabass beats up Lloyd.
Plus can you imagine it being filmed in slow motion as it falls with the Party Like A Rockstar song in the background?
