Brandon Jennings isn’t thrilled with Europe

“Brandon Jennings Sends Home a Warning from Europe” (New York Times). Interesting article with Jennings thoughts about skipping college and jumping the pond to play a year of pro ball in Europe.

ǃ?My role is to play D and take open shots ÇƒÓ thatǃÙs it,ǃ? he said. ǃ?And IǃÙve accepted that role.ǃ?

He acknowledged that the journey had helped him mature, and he said the rigors of playing in Europe may benefit others.

His reputation doesn’t seem to hold much weight there, which might be a good thing in the long run.¨Ü Still, this probably kills the chance of any top recruits in upcoming going to Europe.¨Ü I’m fine with the idea of middle-tier players going to Europe,¨Ü but out of high school, college just seems like the right choice.¨Ü Then again, the one and done thing really takes a lot away from college basketball.¨Ü It’s difficult to grow to hate or like any player in a single season.
