Apple rejects BitTorrent control app Drivetrain.
Their reason? “This category of applications is often used for the purpose of infringing third party rights.” By that logic, they’d better reject Safari while they’re at it.
I’m not interested in iPhone apps, I just hate this stupid argument where you jump to the extreme end of the spectrum.¨Ü Why not go further and cut off the internet connection?¨Ü Some comments imply that Apple is ignoring the legit use of BitTorrent for open-source distribution.¨Ü Here’s my guess to why: pretty much everyone ignores the legit use of BitTorrent, period–its popularity grew and remained because it simplified piracy.
P.S. I’m too paranoid to torrent anything anymore.¨Ü I stopped a few years ago some people at UW got those dreaded letters and I was scared off by the thought of the ensuing rage after my mom opened an envelope saying I owed thousands of dollars to some group.¨Ü Now that I write that description, they sound awfully similar to tuition statements.
