Classic Bill Simmons article: One final toss for the Dooze. He wrote this when 2009 started, but I re-read it this week because it was mentioned in his most recent mail bag. He says it’s his most read piece ever, … Continue reading
Sweet Genius teaser. Flipped through channels and watched this for about three minutes. Pretty sure Food Network has secured the most insufferable personality on TV (and possibly the world).
Paul Rudd in a Super Nintendo commercial. So random.
On Grantland, Rafe Bartholomew wrote about Spoelstra in the Phillipines. He also saw the role basketball played in people’s lives. “Every little alley had some crazy basket hung up on a telephone poll and made out of a garbage can … Continue reading
Friends Visit San Diego
Tubo and Garsh visited San Diego this past weekend. The only goal when planning things was to try and do as much as possible that wouldn’t be done in Seattle. Meaning go to the beach and avoid chain restaurants.
A couple friends from Seattle came down for the weekend. I’m going to post more pictures from this later in the week. (Really! I hope. Unless I’m too tired or something but I’m really going to.) Here’s one that I … Continue reading
Went to the Chargers/Chiefs game a couple days ago and seeing the Chiefs reminded me of Dante Hall. I was thinking maybe his returns were being exaggerated in my head. Looked up some highlights today, and they were definitely as … Continue reading
Big Ghost reviews J. Cole’s album. My favorite fake celebrity blog since Real Drew Bledsoe’s classic. Dollar and a Dream III – This beat sounds like Puffy circa Life After Death was in the studio wit his toothpick in his … Continue reading
Complex.com has a good article on J. Cole. Interesting perspective because it’s written by Damien Scott, who roomed with him at St. John’s University. The crowds were usually small and full of drunk college kids, but it was an opportunity … Continue reading
I was split on whether I wanted Mayweather to win (it’d be more exciting if he fought Pacquaio while still undefeated) or not (that fight’s never happening so it’d be good to see anybody beat the guy). The Larry Merchant … Continue reading
National Museum of Natural History
Yes, I’m still posting things from June. I really enjoyed wandering around the National Museum of Natural History, because, hey, dinosaurs!
Things I did in June
Here are some phone pictures from June, when I was in D.C. for most of the month. First, these two flying contraptions from the aerospace museum. I like the first one mostly because it reminds me of the Godzilla episode … Continue reading
Archie out of context. Some panels from Archie comics. Fantastic.
Back to Our Roots 2011: Five Memories
This isn’t really ranked, it’s just five quick memories from last weekend’s camping trip. But first, a Harry Potter portrait (no sound, but Jerry’s saying I should sit here and double gun it—don’t mind if I do!): Salmon Potter caught … Continue reading
Back to Our Roots 2011
I tried to make it a point to shoot more video this year. I did that, but I took a lot fewer pictures and will probably never get around to editing any clips together. Anyway, this looks more like pictures of a fishing trip than a camping trip. Lots of sunset shots.
