Quick post before I get ready for tonight’s festivities. Gonna go through the “Stuff I Did” category in Google Calendars.
January: my first month living in an apartment without roommates. Got excited to buy furniture then I never bought furniture.
February: ZOMBIE MONTH LOL. Also I worked in Memphis and this is probably the third time I’m mentioning it but we didn’t eat Memphis BBQ as a team. We instead ate at an overpriced Brazilian BBQ place. Remembering this just ruined 2011 so I’m glad 2012 is around the corner.
March: Went to Vegas for Jerry’s bachelor party. Most fun weekend of the year.
April: Worked in Baltimore and ate all sorts of crab cakes. I also have an entry that says “Nap of my life” so I must’ve taken a pretty good nap.
May: Jerry’s wedding. Which was awesome except I bit through my tongue playing basketball earlier in the week so I couldn’t really talk to my friends or enjoy the food—two of my favorite things to do.
Also I worked in Philadelphia and jogged from a hotel downtown to the top of the Rocky steps. This is the dumbest and coolest I’ve felt simultaneously probably ever.
Rode Segways through Rodeo Drive at the end of the month. This is the dumbest I’ve felt probably ever. But so so fun.
June: Easily the most memorable month of the year because it was so different from the others. I stayed in DC for three weeks for work. Drove a black HHR aka the murdered out hearse whip. Happily lived in a hotel. And ate and ate and ate. Multiple entries simply say “Bon Chon Chicken”. Friends there made it great.
July: An entry on the 4th says “Too Much Jello”. There was a lot of FaceTiming this month. It ended with a trip to Seattle for my birthday. One of my favorite weeks of the year. Managed to hang out with everyone important to me in Washington. Mid-20s slumber parties every night!
August: The “Lost $50 on Nitro Power” sums up my betting luck this year. There’s also a “Wasted the day” entry. I must’ve really wasted the day if I felt compelled to write that.
Moved in with Jason and Bryanth this month also. We were on a roll going out and stuff, then we got cable, then we got Internet, and then finally we got couches. There should be a day every year where you decide to do some things more and some things less to try and improve your life…
September: Camping trip with the guys in Oak Harbor. Also finally had visitors at the end of the month. Tubo and Garsh visited. I almost watched Tubo float away into the abyss on a body board. The tacos afterward made things better. Except for the traumatic memories and general sense of doom. Chick-Fil-A made that better.
October: Paul and Michael visited San Diego. To show them my life in San Diego I took them to LA for the weekend. Saw an Aziz stand-up show which was great. I also have entries such as “Giant blister” and “Fed Jerry the hamster” and “Jerry the hamster betrayed me”.
November: Cooked Thanksgiving dinner then started patting myself on the back and basically haven’t stopped since. I wrote this whole 2011 recap a an excuse to remind people (aka myself) that I cooked a good turkey.
December: Not a lot of calendar entries. Christmas Eve gets more and more fun every year. And I’ve spent the last week eating and complaining about how cold Washington is. Love my family; love my friends.
Wanna read one long joke and two short jokes? Jooooooooke. Joke joke! Favorite old joke I was reminded of this year. Have fun and be safe tonight.
