Just keep saying the same things!

Geez I just read my last two posts and they basically say the same boring thing. Anyway: I moved to New York! And I’m guessing if you’re one of the 7 people reading this then you knew that already.

Anyway, I’ll just think of some topics that come to mind and write a little bit about them.

Food

Clearly the first thing that comes to mind. I need to write out the list of everywhere I’ve eaten and rank them with one sentence descriptions or something. Off the top of my head, five really good meals that come to mind: Minetta Tavern, Peter Luger, Big Wong King, Spotted Pig, and Momofuku Ssam.

Again off the top of my head, five I want to go to: Pok Pok, Chef’s Table, Pearl Oyster Bar, Babbo, sushi somewhere.

(Yes, this is heavily based on the Brooklyn episode of No Reservations.)

Also, I love Shake Shack. You know how they say memories are actually very very inaccurate? I remember loving Shake Shack from the start. But somewhere in the annals of this blog there’s a post talking about my first time having Shake Shack on a D.C. trip and I use the term “disappointing”. I’m disappointed in my past self.

Another thing in that old post is that I say I love BonChon chicken. I still do.

Comedy Cellar

Haven’t been yet. Just want to point out that Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock (and Kevin Hart and others) dropped in a couple weeks ago. For some reason I felt like I missed out. Even though the entire world missed out basically. Maybe it’s just knowing it was ten minutes from my place (and literally 30 seconds from my previous place) that made it seem like I missed out. It’s not like I even had tickets.

Knitting Factory

Speaking of comedy, I did make it out to the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn at the beginning of February when Curt and Tony visited. This was awesome. A good three hours of standup for free. The only downside is that there basically aren’t any seats. (Talk about “standup”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Hannibal Burress hosts and opened with about twenty minutes and does five to ten minutes between sets. Really great — I need to go back.

I thought this post was gonna be longer but I wrote the food heading, decided to come back to it, wrote the two comedy place paragraphs, then just Yelped food places I’ve been to for forty minutes.
